Ocotillo is as authentic as the desert blooms that inspired it. Three humble ingredients: chili, lime and salt. One shake and this staple will dress up anything from the butchers block to the beer fridge. Just don’t forget the house rule: This simple spice is made for sharing.
Beginnings
Setting: Austin, TX
A city full of cultural & creative inspiration.
With predominant influence from our southern neighbor Mexico, beer salt was nothing new to two friends and founders Cole Purswell and Joe Robertson growing up in the Hill Country.
